Bragging Rights

Meet in the park, 2 hours before high noon. Show up and blow up.
This was the only time I have ever done a race run with the pup.
That 11 minutes hurt so bad (not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good.) I thought my run was over when I broke a chain, but I quickly realized I was at the top of the last downhill into the finish. Luckily Matt was there to remind me to keep going and not stop to fix it. Thanks Matt!
I wasn't thinking about what place I was in, so I was suprised when they told me that I won.

Hank's Digger
Hank, the puppy, took a page from the mountain bikers blog: "show up and blow up."
All the signs looked good for the perfect Friday after work ride. Sunny and dry trails. Loaded i-pod and the dog wanted to run. Drew, Dewey, myself and the dog headed up the trail and 2 minutes later I noticed Hanks leg was bothering him, so we stopped. He had gashed his leg open. It was a deep gash that ripped the fur off his leg and I thought I saw bone at first glance.
Me and Dewey walked the dog out of the woods while Drew pulled my car around. Off to the Animal Hospital. 260 bones later he's stiched up and drugged like a drunken pumpkin.
