12 Hours of the Hill of Truth
Many thanks to John Baker, this race has become local cycling holiday. Great track. Perfect weather and rowdy crowd.
Thanks to my team, The Epic Ride Mafia. We rode strong until the end, which came to soon (tragic crash on West Shore -> Brian, I hope you heal up quick. That eye looked bad, but I'm glad to hear its not serious.

spraying dirt
Early fall weather is here and it feels great!
These photos below were mostly shot in the low-light of the woods. I was shooting for two different results. At first I was trying to get a still image with a tracer of the rider going through (at bottom of page.) Then I tried to work on panning, following the rider. The desired result would be to have the background blurry, with the rider in focus. Look for more panning shots in the future, as I try to perfect this shot.

riders: Doug White and Ben Rams.

Wednesday night is happy-hour at the Ridge

I am guilty of redlining into the woods and loosing track of the group around me. Especially at Haw Ridge on a Wednesday night. I mean, you wouldn't tear off into the mountains in Pisgah with a group and not know if someone was getting left behind.
According to Jay and Jeremy, I went plaid into the woods and disappeared. I was riding in a group with people in front, and people in back. I had no idea they were not "in" until we couldn't find them.
I yelled "hoot tay hooo"... but nothing. They were gone. Sorry, I hope that I didn't ruin your ride.
After a great ride, buzzing tires on fast descents, including Low Gap, Saddle, I and V; we made back to the lot for cold beers and grilled hot dogs. Cheers, everybody knows your name.
