Nashville

Black Friday: I rode from Murfreesboro to Smyrna via back roads, to Sharp Springs Natural Area, where I picked up the greenway and gravel roads. It was a great route and awesome ride. Probably 50 miles.
The picture here is of hole #11 on the disc golf course we had played just a few days earlier.

Shred-tastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Headed to the 'rock (Windrock Mtn) Sunday morning with snow capped peaks leading the way. It was a beautifully chilly morning, and it never warmed up. I was dubious of trail conditions, but after a run or two, the slickness led to shredness! And so it was.
The fall festival at Windrock was in full effect, and the shuttle truck ran continuous laps. I made 7 downhill runs in 4 hours.
One day soon I will ride with the camera and capture the awesomeness on film.
Thanks Ben Rams, Doug White and Hippie Matt for riding with me. It was a great day on the hill.

Piltot Rock -> Laurel Mountain

The Laurel Mountain loop is a Pisgah classic, and since my friends are all either flakes or injured or out of town or got too drunk last night, or unavailable to roll the dice on questionable weather... I left town in the drizzling rain, just me and my Yeti.
What a beautiful day it turned into. I parked on the Blue Ridge Parkway and rode to the top of Pilot Rock, and started the day off with a burly descent, then spent the rest of the afternoon climbing back on Laurel Mountain. I even got caught in a snow storm for a few minutes. It was near white-out conditions.
I wanted to make the Windrock fall festival today, but felt sure it would be too wet. Hopefully tomorrow will be a powder day!

Autumn ride on Walden Ridge

After riding a loop with Jeff, Jonathon, Matt and Brian; I pushed the Stinky up to the top of the ridge for a test run.
The Stinky rides well, even pedaling it tracked good. But going down was fast; gravity pulled me through some lines way faster than I would have ever ridden the Yeti 575. The real test will be on the DH trails on the other side of the valley.
But the initial test run has me anxiously looking forward to some shuttle runs!

Look Rock

Townsend, TN
I had hoped that Miss Lilly's would have been so much better than it actually was. They had a great menu and a few good beers on the menu. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but I was glad I had a sandwich in the car when we left. So I tailgated in their parking lot after dinner. I was quite disappointed, but at least the company was good!
